The man behind The View
Daniele Rampini, on Boa Vista since 1998.
From Cortemaggiore to Boa Vista: the story of the entrepreneur who has been developing property on the island since 1998, from his first apartment to the White Hotel and The View.
From sales to property
Daniele Rampini was born in Cortemaggiore, in the province of Piacenza, Italy. Since boyhood he dreamed of building: he chose to train as a surveyor and, as a child, followed his father around building sites.
After his diploma and military service, however, he took a different path: he became a sales agent in Food & Beverage, working with major brands such as Moët & Chandon, Unilever and Amaro Lucano. These were formative years, in which he learnt to listen to clients’ needs and to read the market.
Why Boa Vista
In 1998 he visited Cape Verde for the first time and bought an apartment on Boa Vista. It was not an impulse decision: first he studied the market, the political and economic situation and the prospects for tourism, and he had a lawyer assist him with all the legal paperwork.
His first projects were a hard school: a small renovation took four years, with materials in short supply and contractors in difficulty. It was that very experience that gave him first-hand knowledge of the practical challenges of building on an island, and convinced him that Boa Vista had a great future.
From holiday homes to apart-hotels
With Residence Delfino and the projects that followed, the group grew quickly: helped by the arrival of the international airport, it built and sold 250 property units in ten years.
Listening to clients – often people aged between 45 and 65 who already owned a home in Italy – gave rise to the idea of the apart-hotel: a real property, registered in the buyer’s name, with management entrusted to hospitality professionals and the option of using it for holidays. The model took shape with the White Hotel and continues today with The View.
Today
Today Daniele Rampini has built over 350 properties on Boa Vista and works alongside Boavista2000.com, the island’s long-established portal. In 2026 he brought the White Hotel experience to the Cabo Verde Investment Forum in Milan and presented The View, the new apart-hotel of 65 suites on Praia Cabral.
His work has been covered by Forbes Italia, Fortune Italia, Il Sole 24 Ore, ANSA and Il Messaggero, among others: you will find all the articles in our press coverage section.
